Ernst W. Meinrath
Born in Brussels, Belgium, Ernst began his musical education in Paris at the age of five, studying solfège at eight and counterpoint at fifteen. While his early training was devoted entirely to classical music, he later broadened his horizons with studies in Jazz and Pop/Rock.
In 1989, Ernst founded his first company, Musicom. With the band Airlock, he entered the world of composing for picture. Beyond live performances, he positioned the group for commercials and jingles, working with clients such as Columbia Pictures, Buena Vista, Pioneer, and Sony. His work on film trailers soon became the springboard to full-length feature scoring.
Over the next six years, Ernst honed his craft by composing for many short films. During this time, he also co-produced the cult Belgian film Dikkenek.
As a composer, producer, and music supervisor, Ernst has collaborated with Luc Besson, After Dark Films, Cutting Edge, and many others.
Today, he continues to write, produce, and supervise music across a wide range of styles and media.
